About the Book
Through in-depth engagements with Palestinian hip-hop music and graffiti, Affective Resistance reveals how Palestinians sustain an Indigenous claim to their home/land through feeling. Moving beyond the well‑worn paradox that resistance both challenges and reproduces domination, this book offers a vital rethinking of resistance, affect, and Indigenous sovereignty by centering the affective dynamics of everyday Palestinian struggle. Developing a decolonizing, embodied narrative methodology for exploring the power of affect, Affective Resistance engages with Palestinian hip-hop music and graffiti as sites of theory as well as struggle. In doing so, the book argues that Palestinians maintain an affective sovereignty with their land—constellations of feeling that sear through the so‑called “iron wall” of overwhelming settler colonial violence.
