Faculty and instructors who wish to integrate UC Press content into their courses or e-learning environment, such as a Learning Management System, can request access via the Copyright Clearance Center.
Publishers: To request permission to reproduce content (text) that is still in print, please follow the RightsLink instructions under Reprints (below). For more complex requests or for content that is out of print, please send your request via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Media: Journalists interested in excerpting UC Press content can email requests to email@example.com, or view our Media page. Please include author/title/media outlet in the subject heading of the email.
Please note that most images and figures in UC Press publications are licensed from third-parties. UC Press can only grant permissions for material for which it holds the copyright. Look for the image/figure credit line or citation to determine where the image originated. For material copyrighted by another person or organization, you must secure permission directly from the cited source. For more information, contact the US Copyright Office.

UC Press has partnered with Copyright Clearance Center's Rightslink® service to process reprint requests through our website.
To submit your request: Search for the UC Press book on our site
- Click on "Rights & Permissions” on the right side of the page
- Create a Rightslink® account if you haven't already
- Select your reuse or reprint preferences
- Accept the terms and conditions
