As a nonprofit organization, UC Press relies on generous charitable contributions from donors who champion exceptional independent publishing, critical thinking, and bold creativity. Only a small portion of the Press budget is provided by the University of California. All other funding is through book sales, journal subscriptions and support received through the Foundation.
Your membership contribution to the UC Press Foundation assists the Press in attracting the finest authors, maintaining high-quality production values, and offsetting costs to help keep books widely accessible to readers worldwide.
Annual donors that give $100+ and authors that donate their royalties to the Foundation are part of our membership community. Members receive access to 30+ UC Regents owned journals, UC Press news and announcements, invitations to events, and discounts on selected books. Members that give $1,000+ annually will be recognized in a publication.
Many thanks to our members for their annual support!

When you join the UC Press Foundation at the Friend level or above, you will receive a username and password to access UC Regents owned journals and a discount code to purchase books that will remain active for one year.
To purchase books at a discount: Use the UC Press books website, select book(s) for purchase, enter your code in the “Coupon Code” field in the “Order Summary” section or call (800) 343-4499 and provide your code to the customer service representative.
To access journals: At the UC Press journals website, sign in at the upper right hand of the page with your username and password. Be sure to click the captcha box that says "I'm not a robot." All 30+ UC Regents owned journals and articles for your access will indicate a green circle and check mark icon.
*Only 8 journals published through UC Press are not owned by UC Regents for membership benefit access: American Biology Teacher, Journal of the American Musicological Society, Journal of Japanese Studies, Journal of Popular Music Studies, Journal of the Society for Architectural Historians, Journal of Sound and Music in Games, Pacific Historical Review, and The Public Historian.
