The 21st biannual meeting of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM) and the annual meeting of its US branch, IASPM-US, is being held this week in Minneapolis from June 26-30, 2023. UC Press is proud to be the publisher of the Journal of Popular Music Studies, the official journal of IASPM-US. In celebration of the conference, we are removing the paywall from the current issue of JPMS, and, because we know that your scholarly (and/or vocational) interest in music may be varied, we are also making select issues of other music journals we publish free to read for a limited time. Click on the covers below to access the free content.

Given the range of genres and subjects treated throughout this issue, we hope that this issue gives you much to appreciate in the scholarly world of popular music. We certainly enjoyed putting it together.

—K. E. Goldschmitt and Elliott H. Powell, Co-Editors of JPMS
