2019 LSA Legacy Award

Kitty Calavita has won the 2019 LSA Legacy Award. This lifetime achievement award honors people whose contributions have significantly helped to develop the Association through sustained commitment to the Association’s mission and legacy. Kitty has previous won the 2015 LSA Harry J. Kalven, Jr. Award.

2019 LSA Article Prize, Honorable Mention

Jenness and Calavita’s article, “‘It Depends on the Outcome’: Prisoners, Grievances, and Perceptions of Justice”, has received an Honorable Mention for the 2019 LSA Article Prize.

The authors’ book, Appealing to Justice, also won the 2016 Society for the Study of Social Problems’ Sutherland Book Award for the Law and Society Division.
