To celebrate Women’s History Month Feminist Media Histories will be highlighting articles from past issues that examine histories of women’s engagement with diverse media outside the west. Each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month of March one FMH article will be free to download for 48 hours.

We begin with Diane Wei Lewis’s article on women working in the Japanese animation industry, then continue with articles on global comics, Argentine radio serials, Iranian cyberfeminism, Indian comedienne Tun Tun, feminist politics on Turkish radio, Gentō projections in occupied Japan, Egyptian melodramas, and women’s labor in Andean oppositional filmmaking.

Follow Feminist Media Histories on Facebook and Twitter to catch every free download this month. And watch for future special issues devoted to Adult Media, Transnational Broadcasting, Activism, Games, and the Environment.
