The UC Press Foundation is delighted to announce that Dr. May Hu has just joined the team as our new Executive Director. May comes to us with a rich career background spanning 14 years of fundraising, communications and management success with various non-profit and educational organizations. After completing her undergraduate degree in sociology at Occidental College, May began her career at a few smaller not-for-profits in Los Angeles before joining the Cleaver Family Wellness Clinic, where she directed the organization’s fundraising and grant administration efforts, as well as managing communications and marketing.
Most recently, she was a leading member of the California Institute of Technology’s advancement team where she managed important donor relationships, closed a successful $1.4 billion campaign, and worked closely with the President, Vice Presidents and key faculty. During her tenure at Caltech, she also completed a Doctorate in Education at UCLA. Those of us who have spent time with May have been extremely impressed with her passion, strategic focus and entrepreneurial energy, and we are excited to have her joining our team.
