Mignon Moore’s research is personal. Her book Invisible Families explores gay identity and motherhood among African American women, and in this Huffington Post Gay Voices installment, she and her partner Elaine Harley discuss building their families of choice, first by creating community networks for same-gender-loving (SGL) women of color and then by adopting two children through the foster to adopt program.
