We had hoped to produce that rarest of creations: an error-free book. Alas, we didn't quite achieve that goal, but it appears that we may have come quite close. Each group of errata listed below refers to a particular printing of the book. If you find other errors, please send us an e-mail so that we can update this list. Errors in the First Printing (most of which were corrected in the Second Printing) page 31. 2nd paragraph, line 7. Add a period after the "S" in "U.S stocks". page 38. Caption. "Fiigure 4." should read "Figure 4." page 46. Next-to-last line. Add a hyphen: bottom-of-the-page notes. page 72. Line 2. Add a hyphen, to read Moby-Dick. page 102. #7. Reword: "Do not allow a comma to interrupt a so . . . that construction." page 133. Midpage. Correct spellings are "Allegheny" and "Alleghenies". page 159. Last line of text.
