To the best of my knowledge, there’s never been a war against Terroir, but if there were, Gerald Asher would be a lively voice raised against it. His new book, A Vineyard in My Glass, draws together a selection of essays he’s written during his over 30 years as the wine editor of Gourmet.

For our first podcast of the Fall 2011 season, Chris Gondek interviews Gerald and asks him, among other things, about this career in the wine industry and the impact of UC Davis’ wine program on US and California wine-making.
