University of California Press is pleased to announce that the first issue of Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture (LALVC) is now available at lalvc.ucpress.edu. To celebrate the journal’s launch, LALVC 1.1 will be freely accessible online for the remainder of 2019. To access future issues, become an individual subscriber or ask your institution’s library to subscribe on your behalf.
Edited by Charlene Villaseñor Black (University of California, Los Angeles), LALVC is dedicated to publishing the most current international research on the visual culture of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, as well as that created in diaspora. A defining focus of the journal is its concentration of current scholarship on both Latin American and Latinx visual culture in a single publication. The journal aims to approach ancient, colonial, modern and contemporary Latin American and Latinx visual culture from a range of interdisciplinary methodologies and perspectives.
If you’re attending the CAA conference in New York, we invite you to come by the UC Press booth (booth #504) to browse a POD copy of the journal and to pick up some LALVC swag (we have buttons!). If you’re not in New York, we invite you to read the issue online.
