UC Press is the only major American university press that is part of a public, multi-campus university. This fact has always influenced our publishing program but takes on greater significance as it becomes increasingly important for the research results of the University of California to reach an audience of policymakers, practitioners, and citizens.
UC Press engages in a number of specific programs to serve the University's publishing needs and to support the University's research and teaching enterprise. Key to these initiatives are partnerships with campus libraries, centers, institutes, departments, and museums; the California Digital Library; and individual UC faculty. Through these joint efforts, UC-affiliated publications can have the greatest possible impact on the citizens of California and beyond.
