In addition to such clerical duties as photocopying and mailing, interns help coordinate the peer review of proposals and manuscripts, attend editorial meetings, process decline letters, prepare manuscripts for editing and production, and solicit permissions, among various other tasks.
Applicants should be detail-oriented, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under competing deadlines. Familiarity with Macs, Microsoft Office, and FileMaker Pro preferred.
This is an unpaid internship with a preferred time commitment of 20–35 hours per week for 16 weeks.
