A systematic and descriptive account of the shrubs of California, this book lists about 800 species and 200 varieties of native shrubs, together with 12 species of introduced shrubs that have been naturalized, as well as native woody and semi-woody perennials. To simplify indentification there are 775 reproductions of pen and ink drawings and 56 full-page halftones.
